Deciding on a TherapistTherapy with a counsellor you feel comfortable with is probably one of the most important factors in deciding whether counselling will help you or not, so you will want to meet the therapist initially to ensure you can both work together. To ensure you are in safe hands, it is also important to choose an accredited counsellor / therapist who has not only completed the required training in a recognised establishment, but who abides by a strict code of ethics. About Me I completed my BACP & UKCP accredited Diploma in Psychodynamic Studies (Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling) at WPF, which is regarded as one of the leading training organisations in its field in the UK, with an excellent clinical and academic reputation. Also a member of the Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling (FPC), WPF's graduate organisation, this means that not only am I bound by the Foundation's highest code of ethics and complaints procedure, which ensures I offer proper standards of care and professionalism to you at all times; but that I adhere to a regular programme of continued professional development. Furthermore, being a member of the largest professional bodies for counsellors and psychotherapists - the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) - they are recognised for their highly trained and qualified members, ensuring that the highest standards of counselling and psychotherapy are upheld throughout the UK. In addition to working at Therapy In Motion, I have received training at Victim Support and also work there as a volunteer. ** Therapy In Motion: counselling & psychotherapy for The City & Central London. ** Tel: 07508-936-040 Email: jen@therapyinmotion.co.uk |
